We live in a town about 100 miles from Oklahoma’s capital city, Oklahoma City. We’ve been here 32 years. It was not that long ago that we joined our town’s country club, mostly because after retiring, my husband’s main hobby was golfing. It was at the club I discovered a cocktail called a Club Special.

First I have to admit that I don’t drink Manhattans, the whisky-based drink named after Manhattan, allegedly created in New York City’s Manhattan club in 1880. I just don’t like whisky or any of the brown liquors. However, my husband does. According to people who consider themselves Manhattan connoisseurs, this is the best Manhattan ever.
